If 3x −7 = 10 and xy = −1, find the value of 9x^2 + 49y^2.

3x - 7y = 10
3x = 17
x = 17\3
(3x) ^ 2 + (7y) ^ 2
(3x - 7y) ^ 2 = 3x^ 2 +4y^2 - 2*3x*7y
100 = 3x^2 + 4y^2 - 42xy
100 = __________ - 42*-1
100 - 42 = 3x^2 +42y^2
58 = 3x^2 + 42y^2


58 is your answer

Hope it helps,but do recheck..
but if u r using the method mentioned by Rakhsa12345,then u'r answer will probably be 58 or 59.
