Common difference of an AP is
d = a3 - a2 = a2 - a1
d =
8 - (x + 2) = (x - 2) - 3x \\ 6 - x =  - 2x - 2 \\ 3x = 8 \\ x =  \frac{8}{3}  \\

a4 = a + (4 - 1)d \\ a4 = a + 3d \\ a4 = 8 + 3( \frac{8}{ 3} ) \\ a4 = 8 + 8 = 16 \\
