3x-y=12

3=(12+y)/x

3=12/x+y/x

3–12/x=y/x

(3x-12)/x=y/x

x/(3x-12)=x/y

8x/2(3x-12)=8x/2y

4x/3x-12=8x/2y……. That's what I believe the answer is but their are numerous other ways of denoting the same thing just by alebrically manipulating the equation

Thanks for A2A!

Rearranging the equation we get,

3x-12=y

which equals to

1/y=1/(3x-12)

Now,multiply both sides by x

x/y=x/(3x-12)

8x/2y=4x/y=4x/(3x-12)
