Answer:

64= 4^3;

16= 4^2;

So, 4^(3a-1)= 64* 16

=> 4^(3a-1)= 4^5; (Laws of exponents)

Since the bases are same,

3a- 1= 5

=> 3a= 6

=> a= 2 (ans.)
