If 4/5, a, 2 are in AP. Them, find the value of a. If common difference is same.

Solution :

We know that..

$a_{2}$ - $a_{1}$ = $a_{3} \:-\:a_{2}$

AP : 4/5, a, 2

Here...

$a_{1}$ = 4/5

$a_{2}$ = a

$a_{3}$ = 2

→ a - 4/5 = 2 - a

→ a + a = 2 + 4/5

→ 2a = (10 + 4)/5

→ 2a = 14/5

→ a = 14/(5 × 2)

→ a = 7/5
