4/5 , a , 2 are in A.P
so
a-4/5=2-a

5a-4 / 5 = 2-a

5a - 4 = 10 - 5a

5a + 5a = 10+ 4

10a = 14

a = 14/10

a = 7/5

Answer : 7/5

Step-by-step explanation :

If x, y, z are the consecutive terms of an A. P then 2y = x + z.

Given, 4/5, a, 2 are the consecutive terms of an Arithmetic progression,

As said above,

2 ( a) = 4/5 + 2

2a = 4/5 + 10/5

2a = 14/5

a = 14/10

a = 7/5

Therefore a = 7/5
