Given diagonal is 7x – y + 8 = 0

Slope of this line, m1 = 7

We know diagonals of a square are perpendicular.

So the slope of the other diagonal, m2 = -1/7

Equation of other diagonal is y = mx + c

=> y = (-1/7)x + c

This line passes through (-4, 5).

=> 5 = (-1/7)-4 + c

=> c = 5 – 4/7

=> c = 31/7

So the required equation is y = (-1/7)x + 31/7

=> 7y + x = 31

Hence option (3) is the answer

Step-by-step explanation:

7x-y+8=0

7x-8y+7y + 8 = 0

let y = x

7x-8x + 7x +8 = 0

x(7-8) + common nehii hai
