The value of a is rational number.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have,

\dfrac{4}{a}=\dfrac{a^2}{16}

To find, the value of a is rational or irrational = ?

\dfrac{4}{a}=\dfrac{a^2}{16}

By crossmultiplication, we get

a^{2}\times a=4\times 16

a^{3} =64

Using formula,

a^{m}. a^{n}=a^{m+n}

a^{3}=4^{3}

a = 4, it can be written as \dfrac{p}{q} form, q ≠ 0

a=\dfrac{4}{1}

Henece, the value of a is rational number.
