We have:

4\cos^2 x = 3

We have to find, the value of x(an acute angle).

Solution:

∴ 4\cos^2 x = 3

\cos^2 x = \dfrac{3}{4}

\cos x = ± \sqrt{\dfrac{3}{4}}

\cos x = \dfrac{\sqrt{3} }{2} [ ∵ Negative sign is not possible because x is an acute angle]

\cos x = \cos \dfrac{\pi}{6}

⇒ x = \dfrac{\pi}{6} or, 30°

Thus, the value of angle "x is \dfrac{\pi}{6} or, 30°".
