x²+px-4 = 0
-4 is a root
therefore
(-4)²+(-4)p-4 = 0
16-4p = 4
12 = 4p
p = 3
x²-3x+k = 0
roots are equal
therefore discriminant = 0
b²-4ac = 0
(-3)²-4(1)(k) = 0
9 = 4k
k = 9/4
