Heya !!

X = -4

P( x ) = X² - X - ( 2 + K )

P (-4) = (-4)² - (-4) - ( 2 + K )

=> 16 + 4 - 2 - k = 0

=> - k + 18 = 0

=> - k = -18

=> k = 18

Hey !

-4 Is a zero of the polynomial x²-x-(2+k).

Putting x = -4 in p(x ).

P( x ) = X² - X - ( 2 + K )

P (-4) = (-4)² - (-4) - ( 2 + K )

16 + 4 - 2 - k = 0

- k + 18 = 0

k = 18.
