The formula is: [(no.of men)*(no.of days)*(no.of hours)]/(work).

w1 = 40.

d1 = 30.

m2 = 18.

d2 = 12.

From the formula we can write, (4 * 30) / (40) = (18 * 12) / (w2)

or, w2 = (18 * 12 * 40) / (4 * 30)

or, w2 = 72.
