Hi there!!

4^x+1 = 2^2+x

(2)^2(x+1) = 2^x+2

On equating the powers, as the bases are same....

2x+2 = 2+x

x = 0

4^x+1=2^2+x
2^2*(x+1) =2^2+x. [since 4=2^2]
As bases are equal,exponents must be equal.
2x+2=x+2
2x=x
x=0.
Hope it helps.
