Given that

40 is subtracted from 60 % of number and the result obtained is 50

We need to find the number

Solution

Let the number from which 60% gets subtracted be =X

As per the given condition, the equation becomes

60% (X)-40 = 50

=( 60/100 ) x – 40 = 50

= 6/10X = 50+40

=6/10X = 90

=X = 10/6 x 90

=X = 900/6

=X = 150

If 40 is subtracted from 60 % of 150 and the result obtained will be 50

Answer:

If when you subtract 40 from 60% and get 50, that means that 60% comprises of both 50 and 40. Right? So what is that? 90 right? Next we have to figure out what 1 percent is. This is called the unitary method. To find this, we have to divide 90 by 60. that’s 1 and a half. Or 1.5. So if that’s 1 %, to find 100%, we simply multiply that number by 100. which equals 150, and therefore the number and solution to the answer is 150.
