CORRECT QUESTION:

40% of 70 is x more than 30% of 80, then find x.

GIVEN:

  • 40% of 70 is x more than 30% of 80

TO FIND:

  • value of x = ?

SOLUTION:

\bold {ACCORDING  \: TO  \: QUESTION}

40% of 70 = 30% of 80 + x

 \tt⎇ \frac{40}{100}  \times 70 =  \frac{30}{100}  \times 80 + x

solve it,

 \tt⎇ \frac{2800}{100}   =  \frac{2400}{100}  + x

 \tt⎇ \frac{28 \cancel{00}}{1 \cancel{00}}   =  \frac{24 \cancel{00}}{1 \cancel{00}}  + x

 \tt⎇ 28 = 24 + x

 \tt⎇  x = 28 - 24

 \tt⎇  x = 4

Hence, x = 4.
