• Therefore from the given statement, we get  $\frac{40}{100}$ × X = $72$
• Take $\frac{40}{100}$ to right side. By doing this, 100 will move to the numerator and 40 will be in the denominator.  

• Then we will get, X = $72$ × $\frac{100}{40}$

                    = $72$ × $\frac{10}{4}$

                    = $72$ × $\frac{5}{2}$

                    X = $180$.  

• Hence, the answer is 180.
