If 40gm of NaOH dissolve in 1000 litre of water calculate the total number of mole ion present in the solution.​

no of moles=given mass/molar mass

molar mass of NaOH= 23+16+1=40 g

no of moles=40/40= 1 mol of NaOH.

if it is for ions,then

1 mole Naoh gives 1mole Na+ and 1mole OH-

therefore, total no of moles of ions= 2 moles
