Hey!

42x is divisible by 9.
= 4 + 2 + x is divisible by 9.
= 6 + x is a multiple of 9.
= 6 + x = 0, or 9, or 18,............
⇒ x = -6, or x = 3,or x = 12,.........
Since, x is a digit ⇒ x = 3

we have to do factors of 4x
42x=7×3×2
We have to do factors of 9
9=3×3
We have to multiply 42 by 3
because in 9 factors 3 are two times common
that's why 42×3=126

x=3
