Let the number be 'x'
So, 1/2x+45=3x
so, 45=3x-1/2x
45= 6/2x-1/2x
45=5/2x
45=2.5x
x=45/2.5
x=18

Therefore, x=18

Hope it helps!!!!!!

Answer:

Required number is 18.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given if 45 is added to half a number .the result is triple the number.

Let the number be x.

Half of the number means \frac{x}{2} and triple of the number means3 \times x = 3x

According to question,

45 + x \times  \frac{1}{2}  =  3 \times x

45 +  \frac{x}{2}  = 3x

We are separating variable and constant part and get, \frac{x}{2} - 3x = - 45

We are doing subtraction (by the rule of fraction )

 \frac{x - 6x}{2}  =  - 45

 -  \frac{5x}{2}  =  - 45

 \frac{5x}{2}  = 45

By cross multiplication,

5x = 45 \times 2 = 90

x =  \frac{90}{5}  = 18

Therefore the number is 18.
