so, x+45=y..... .(1)

2x-21=y

use elimination method

atq 2x - 45 = y (i)

and 2y -21 = x

or y = (x + 21)/2 (ii)

substituting value of y in eq i

2x -45 = (x + 21)/2

4x -90 = x + 21

3x = 111

x = 37

now substituting value of x in eq.i we get,

2(37) - 45 = y

74- 45 = y

y = 29
