I saw few answers I'm trying bit different from other answers. And I'm poor at English so tell me does my answer is making any sense or not

Let assume your question in another way..

Think that one student (man) can eat an egg in one day.. so you have enough number of eggs(work) which can feed 48 students for 35 days. So total number of eggs(work) you have is 48*35 = 1680 eggs (units of work)

Now you have 1680 eggs which are sufficientfor 56 days… so each day you give 1680/56 = 30 eggs (units of work)

As one student can eat one egg you can feed 30 students for 56 days to complete 1680 eggs , simila

48

At first, I came up with 77 men, but then that did not sound logical that more men took 3 weeks longer. It also does not mathematically add up that 48 men take 3 weeks longer, but neither the nature of the work nor the skill level of the workers is given. It might also be stated that the team of 48 will not be paid 3 more weeks for a job they can do in 5 weeks.

I looked at some of the responses, and now I have questions. If it took 48 men to do the piece of work in 35 days, then that’s the same as saying that it takes a 48 man team to do a particular job. Can the team be reduced and the same

Let's find first, how many men will be required to finish the work in 1 day. It will be (48 * 35) since days are reduced.

Now, to finish same amount of work in 56 days, number of men will be reduced since we have more days available with us. So number of men required to finish it in 56 days will be:

(48 * 35) / 56

(8*6 * 7*5) / (8*7)

6*5

30

So, answer of your question is 30 days.
