49a²-b = (7a+1/2)(7a-1/2)
RHS
(a+b)(a-b) = a²-b²

(7a+1/2)(7a-1/2) = (7a)²-(1/2)²
→ 49a²-(1/4)

by comparing LHS and RHS
49a²-b = 49a²-(1/4)

we can say b = 1/4.

hi,

very nice nice question

given

49a² - b = ( 7a + 1/2 ) ( 7a - 1/2 )

first we need a formula which is ----

a² - b² = ( a + b ) ( a - b )

now

49a² - b =( 7a + 1/2 ) ( 7a - 1/2 )

=> 49a² - b = ( 7a )² - ( 1/2 )²

=> 49a² - b = 49a² - 1/4

=> - b = - 1/4

=> b = 1/4

.°. b = 1/4
