Answer : The values of p can be either 0 or 2.

Given 4p+8 , 2p²+3p+6 and 3p²+4p+4 form three consecutive terms of an AP.

Using the AP Formula

if a, b and c are in A.P then

(b - a) = (c - b)

On substituting the values,

(2p² + 3p + 6 - 4p - 8) = (3p² + 4p + 4 - 2p² - 3p - 6)

2p² - p - 2 = p² + p - 2

p² - 2p = 0

p(p - 2) = 0

p = 0 or p = 2

There are two values possible for p,

p = 0, 2

So, to conclude in a single sentence the values of p can be either 0 or 2.
