4x+2y=12

4x=12-2y

x=12-2y / 4

again,

4x-2y= -4

4(12-2y)-2y= -4           [: . x = 12-2y ]

48-8y-2y= -4

48-10y= -4

-10y= -4-48

-10y= -52

y= -52/-10

y=5.2

again,

x= 12-2y

 = 12-2*5.2

 =12-10.4

=1.6
