Given,

\frac{4x +3y}{4x -3y}=\frac{43}{13}

To find,

The value of x/y.

Solution,

Since,

\frac{4x +3y}{4x -3y}=\frac{43}{13}

⇒   Cross multiplying the numerator and denominator in Left Hand Side and Right Hand Side we get,

⇒   13(4x + 3y) = 43(4x - 3y)

Opening the brackets by multiplying we get,

⇒   52x + 39y = 172x - 129y

Gathering the x terms to LHS and the y terms to RHS.

⇒   52x - 172x = -129y - 39y

⇒  -120x = -168y

⇒   x/y = (-168)/(-120)

⇒   x / y = 42/30

⇒  x / y = 7 / 5

Hence,

The value of  \frac{x}{y} =\frac{7}{5}.
