4x=7-4y

x=7-4y/4

now,

2x+6y=1

2(7-4y/4)+6y=1

14-8y/4+6y=1

14-8y+24y/4=1

16y=4-14

16y=-10

y=-5/8

Answer

4x+4y=7 and 2x+6y=1

4x+4y=7....multiply by 2

8x+8y=14.....3

2x+6y=1...multiply by 4

8x+24y=4

Substact eq 3..4

8x+24y=4

-8x+8y=14

,..................

16y=- 10

Y=16/-10

Y=8/-5

Put eq 2....... .4x+4y=7

4x+4(8/-5) =7

4x+32-20=7

4x+12=7

4x=7-12

4x=-5

X=4/-5

X=4/-5
