5^(2x - 1) = 1/125^(x - 3)

⇒ 5^(2x - 1) = 125^(3 - x)

{as 1/a^n = a^(- n)}

⇒ 5^(2x - 1) = 5^[3 · (3 - x)]

Since bases are same,

∴ 2x - 1 = 9 - 3x

⇒ 2x + 3x = 9 + 1

⇒ x = 2.

So, x = 2.

TIP: Check whether LHS = RHS = 125.

Answer:

5^2x-1=1/(125) ^x-3

5^2x-1=1/(5) ^3x-9

5^2x-1=(5) ^-3x+9

2x-1=-3x+9

-10=-5x

-2=-x

x=2
