$\frac{(5 - 7y)}{(2 + 4y)} = - \frac{8}{7} \\ = > 35 - 49y = - 16 - 32y \\ = > - 32y + 49y = 35 + 16 \\ = > 17y = 51 \\ = > y = \frac{51}{17} \\ => y = 3$

$therefore,y = 3$
