Solution

Given :-

  • In series connected resistor = 5 & 10 ohm
  • in parallel connected resistor = 10 & 12 ohm

Find :-

  • Total resistance of whole connection

Explanation

We Know,

In Series Connection

\dag\boxed{\tt{\red{\:R'=\:r+r'}}}

In parallel connection

\dag\boxed{\tt{\red{\:\dfrac{1}{R"}\:=\:\dfrac{1}{r"}+\dfrac{1}{r"'}}}}

Where,

  • r = 5 ohm
  • r' = 15 ohm
  • r" = 10 ohm
  • r"' = 12 ohm

Now, Calculate resistance in series .

keep all above Values in Formula

==> R ' = 5 + 15

==> R' = 20 ohm

Now, Calculate resistance in parallel

keep all above Values in Formula

==> R" = 10 + 12

==> R" = 22 ohm

Now, Calculate total resistance of connection

Here both connection behave a series connection.

So, Now calculate

==> R = R' + R"

keep Values

==> R = 20 + 22

==> R = 42 ohm

Hence

  • Total connection of whole circuit will be = 42 ohm
