If 40 waves pass through a point in 0.5s then it means one wave takes 400.5sec

This means that the time period 'T' is 400.5sec

The distance between one compression and adjacent rarefaction is half of wavelength. So wavelength λ=16m

We know that speed=Tλ

Thus the speed at 00Celcius=v1=16÷400.5=0.516×40=1280 m/s

From the given conditions we have T1=00Celcius=2730Kelvin and T2=2457K

We know that v1v2=T

Explanation:

frequency \: f =  \frac{total \: no \: of \: oscillations}{total \: time \: taken} \\  =  \frac{5}{0.5}  =  \frac{1}{0.1}  \\  = 10

velocity  = frequency \times wavelength \\ wavelength =  \frac{velocity}{frequency}  \\ = \frac{10}{10}  \\ =1m

hope it helps you...!!!
