Answer:

Given,

5kg costs Rs.160

Find,

the cost of 7 kg sugar

Step-by-step explanation:

Since,

the cost increases when the weight increases, this is a case of direct variation.

=> (ratio of the weights) = (ratio of the corresponding costs)

=> 5/7 = Rs.160/x , where x is the cost of 7 kg of sugar.

=> x = 7/5* Rs.160

=> x = Rs.224

Here, 7/5 is the multiplying ratio.
