If that point lies in the given line, it’s coordinates are a solution of given line.

So,
Let x = 5 and y = m for which
2x - 3y - 7 = 0
Substitute the values of x and y
2(5) - 3(m) - 7 = 0
10 - 3m - 7 = 0
3 - 3m = 0
3m = 3
m = 3/3 = 1.

Hence proved.
