If 5 pipes can fill the tank in 1 hr.

then, 1 pipe will fill it in 5×1 hrs.

Hence, 4 pipe will fill it in 5×1/4 hrs.

\sf \therefore time\:  taken = \frac{5}{4}hrs

Convert into mins i.e.,

\sf \implies \frac{5}{\cancel4}×\cancel{60 }= {\fcolorbox{orange}{pink}{75mins.  \:\: ans.}}

5 pipes will take 1hr to fill

5pipes = 1hr

1 pipe = ?

1 pipe will take 1 /5

1 pipe = 1/5 = 0.2

4 pipes = ?

cross multiply

4×1/5 ÷ 1

4×0.2

= 0.8
