The number of workers required is 8 workers

Given:

5 workers can build a wall in 48 hours.

To find:

How many workers will be required to do the same work in 30 hours?

Solution:

Let the number of workers employed to build the wall in 30 hrs to be 'x'

Here the more workers, the faster they will build the wall.

This implies when the number of workers increases the number of hours will be decreased. Similarly, if the number of hours decreases the number of workers will be decreased.

Hence, the number of workers is inversely proportional to the number of hours there we can write it as

=> 48 × 5 = 30 × y

=> y = (240)/30

=> y = 8

Hence,

The number of workers required is 8 workers
