The obvious approach would be to find individual values of a and b and then find a - b.

If we look a little closer, subtracting of the 2 equations is sufficient

5a + 2b - (4a + 3b) = 11 - 4

5a + 2b - 4a - 3b = 7

5a - 4a + 2b - 3b = 7

a - b = 7
