Given :

5\cos x+12\sin x=13

To find : \sin x=?

Solution:

As we know that

\sin^2 x+\cos^2 x=1 -------------------(1)

So, we divide the both sides by 13, we get that

\dfrac{5}{13}\cos x+\dfrac{12}{13}\sin x=1--------------------(2)

So, comparing  (1) and (2) , we get :

\sin x=\dfrac{12}{13}

Hence, the required value is \sin x=\dfrac{12}{13}
