so, according to question

5x+ 2y = 88-----------(1)

2x + 4y = 54 ------------(2)

now, multiply eq. (1) with 2 and subtracting eq.(2) from (1) ,we get

10x + 4y = 176

-2x - 4y = 54

8x = 176- 54

8x= 122

x= 122/8

x= 15.25

now , putting the value of x= 15.25 in eq.(1) ,we get

y= 21.75
