Answer:

We have.

5 sinx+12cosx=13

Taking common cos

5tanx +12=13secx

Squaring on both sides

25tan^2x +144+120tanx=169sec^2x

25tan^2x+144+120tanx=169(tan^2x+1)

144-169=169tan^2x-25 tan^2x - 120tanx

- 25=144tan^2x - 120tanx

144tan^2x +25-120tanx=0

( 12tanx-5)^2=0

12tanx-5=0

12tanx =5

Tanx=5/12
