if 5tan theta = 4, write the value of (cos theta - sin theta)÷(cos theta + sin theta)

5tan@ = 4

tan@ = 4/5

tan@ = opposite side/adjacent side

therefore ,

opposite side = 4

adjacent side = 5

let take hypotenuse as x,

x² = 4²+5²

x² = 16+25

x² = 41

x = √41

hypotenuse = √41

so,

cos@-sin@/cos@+sin@

= (5/√41 - 4/√41)/(5/√41 + 4/√41)

= (1/√41)/(9/√41)

= 1/√41 × √41/9

= 1/9
