Answer:

5x + 3y = 12

-5x + 3y = -18

-----------------------

6y = -6

y = -1

5x + 3y =12

5x + 3(-1) = 12

5x = 12+3

x = 15/5=3

x = 3

y= -1

5x + 3y = 12 \\  3y  - 5x =  - 18 \\  \\ 5x  +  -3y = 12 \\ 3y =  - 18 + 5x \\ 5x - 18 + 5x = 12 \\  \times  = 3 \\  \\ 3 x =  - 18 + 5 \times 3 \\ y =  - 1 \\  \\ therefore \: the \: answer \: is \\  x = 3 \\ y =  - 1

the answer is (x=3,y=-1)
