Required Answer:-

Given:

  • 5x + 4y = 10
  • 4x + 5y = 8

To Find:

  • x + y = ?

Solution:

We have,

➡ 5x + 4y = 10 . . . . (i)

➡ 4x + 5y = 8 . . . . . (ii)

Adding equations (i) and (ii), we get,

➡ 9x + 9y = 18

Taking 9 as common, we get,

➡ 9(x + y) = 18

➡ x + y = 2

Hence, the value of (x + y) is 2.

Answer:

  • The value of (x + y) is 2.
