- 6 + 6x + k is completely divisible by x – 3.

To find:

The value of k.

Solution:

1)  - 6 + 6x + k is completely divisible by x – 3, that means

  • x-3 =0
  • x=3

is the zero of the polynomial - 6 + 6x + k

2) To find the value of k just put the vlaue of x in - 6 + 6x + k

  • - 6 + 6x + k = 0
  • - 6 + 6.3 + k = 0
  • -6 + 18 + k = 0
  • 12 + k = 0
  • k = -12

So the value of k is -12
