Answer:

Explanation:

Let apples be x and oranges be y

Now 6x+6y=7.50

10x+5y=8.75

On solving this we get

Y=0.75

6x+6×.75=7.50

6x=3

X=.50

Thus cost of an apple is Rs .50

Answer:

Explanation:

let the cost of apples be a and cost of oranges be b

         6a + 6b = 7.50       ......(1)

         10a + 5b =8.75       ........(2)

from eq (1) ,

                  6a +6b = 7.50

                  6a = 7.50 - 6b

                     a= (7.50 - 6b)/6        ......(3)

now putting the value of a in eq 2

10 [(7.50 - 6b)/6] + 5b = 8.75

(75 - 60b) / 6 +5b =8.75

75 - 60b + 30b = 8.75 * 6

75 - 30b = 52.5

-30b = 52.5 -75

-30 = - 22.5

b = 0.75

now putting the value of b in eq (3)

a = (7.50 - 6 *0.75) / 6

a=3.50/6

a = 0.5
