The required reaction is,
H2 + Cl2 ==>2HCl
Here 6 litres of H2 reacts with 4 litres of chlorine.
But by Gay Lussacs law,
1 volume of hydrogen will react with 1 volume of chlorine.
Here the taken volume is 4 litres.
As HCl is highly soluble in water.It will soon dissolve[as water is added].And H2 gas will be left.
So the residual gas volume is = 6 litres - 4 litres.
= 2 litres.
