3.1.1 to calculate the total number of voters that voted nationally

The total number of voters

= 3 161 535 + 1 418 288 + 5 937 471 + 5 056 518 + 2 436 112 + 1 827 935 + 1 651 242 + 584 830 + 2 900 567

= 24 974 498

Therefore, A = 24 974 498

3.1.2 to find the province with the second highest voters in 2016

From the given table, it is clear that Kwa-Zulu Natal had the second highest number of voters with 5 056 518 voters.

3.1.3 to find the number of male voters in the 2016-election

Total voters = 24 974 498

Female voters = 60% of 24 974 498

= 14 984 699

Thus male voters = 24 974 498 - 14 984 699

= 9 989 799
