alvairis1995: do you mind helping me with this question please. A train leaves Philadelphia at 1:00 PM. A second train leaves the same city in the same direction at 6:00 PM. The second train travels 150mph faster than the first. If the second train overtakes the first at 8:00 PM, what is the speed of each of the two trains?

let the no. be x

if 65 is added then no. will be x+65.

According to the question, we get:

the result is 45 less than 3 times the no.

the result=3x-45

x+65=3x-45

x-3x=-65-45

-2x=-110

x=-110/-2

x=55.
