653xy is divisible by 80 that means last digit shld be 0 i.e. y=0 now divide 653x by 8 then u get 5x as remainder....therefore x=6 as 56 is divisible by 8
therefore x+y=6

Mehak111111: Can u clear my series problem?
Mehak111111: Solve the series: 0,2,8,14,.?..,34
BEASTLEO: 24
Mehak111111: How?
BEASTLEO: 2-0=2......8-2=6........14-8=6......24-14=10......34-24=10
BEASTLEO: now see difference
BEASTLEO: 6-2=4......10-6=4......
Mehak111111: thanks

can also be written as (653xy/(8)(10))
here we will use the law of divisibility

the above number has to be divisible by 10 and 8 at the same time.
rule of 10------ number should end with 0
(then only it is divisible by 10)
therefore y=0

rule of 8---- if the last three digit of a whole number is divisible by 8, then whole number is divisible by 8.

3xy should be divisible by 8.
3x0 should be divisible by 8.

by trial and error
x=6.
x+y=6
