6x^2+x -2 is the polynomial and alpha and beta are the roots of this polynomial

so,we have to find the roots of the polynomial,

so by applying quadratic formula,

in this polynomial ,

a=6, b=1 and c=-2

the formula is

[-b+-(b^2-4ac)^1/2]/2a

so after solving we get the roots as

alpha=-8/12 and beta=6/12

so the value of alpha-beta is

-8/12-6/12=-14/12

and if alpha is 6/12 and beta is

-8/12

then the value of alpha-beta would be 6/12-(-8/12)=14/12
