If 6x-9=a(x+1)+b(x-2) is an identity, then find the value of a and b

(a+b)x+(a-2b)=6x-9

a+b=6

a-2b=-9

multiply 2 in equation 1 we get

3a=3. a+b=6

a=1. b=5
