Hi ,
*******************
We know the exponential law
1 ) If a^m = a^ n then m = n
********************
7^( x - 1 ) = 49
7^ ( x - 1 ) = 7²
x - 1 = 2
x = 2 + 1
x = 3 ------( 1 )
4 ^( y + 2 ) = 64
4^ ( y + 2 ) = 4³
y + 2 = 3
y = 3 - 2
y = 1 ------( 2 )
Now ,
y/x - x / y = 1/3 - 3/1
= ( 1 - 9 ) / 3
= -8/3
I hope this helps you.
